Chief Darrell Deckard joined the Crockett Volunteer Fire Dept. in December of 1979.
He worked his way through the ranks from Firefighter to Lt. to Captain to Assist. Chief and finally to Vol. Fire Chief in 1992.
In November of 2000, Chief Deckard became the full-time, paid Chief .
Chief Deckard is certified by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as:
Head of Department- Suppression, Intermediate FF, Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator,
Fire Officer II. He is currently serving as Volunteer Director for the Texas Fire Chief’s Association.
